Park Cemetery Ohlsdorf

The largest park cemetery in the world is not only a popular excursion destination, but also the resting place of many famous Hamburg citizens such as Hans Albers, Heinz Erhardt, Inge Meysel, Ida Ehre, Gustaf Gründgens and Richard Ohnsorg. The last burial took place there at the end of 2015, when Hamburg’s former mayor and former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt was buried. In the family grave are buried not only the long-time wife Loki but also the parents of the popular politician and ZEIT editor.
